TomTom Home

If you have a navigation device from Dutch company TomTom, then you need to know that you can efficiently and conveniently manage said navigation device with the company’s TomTom Home software. This free desktop software will help you personalize your TomTom device, buy maps, subscribe to services, back up your content, make sure you’re always up to date, and more.

TomTom Home is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X. A simple setup wizard will help you install TomTom Home. Click here if you need instructions on how to install TomTom Home on your PC or Mac.

TomTom Home for Windows is meant for GO, XL, XXL, ONE, START, RIDER and NAVIGATOR 7 devices.
TomTom Home for Mac is meant for GO, ONE, XL, XXL, START and RIDER devices.

TomTom Home does not work with the following devices: GO 800/1000/2000 series, GO LIVE Top Gear edition, Via series, Start 20 series, Start 60, Blue&Me TomTom 2 LIVE, Sony XNV, TomTom Connect, GO 40, GO 50, GO 60, GO 400, GO 500, GO 600, Rider 400, Rider 40, GO 510, GO 610, GO 5000, GO 6000, GO 5100, GO 6100, Trucker 6000, START 40, START 50, START 60.

The main panel on TomTom Home’s interface is divided into two sections. The first one presents the following options: purchase maps; add traffic, voices and other services; use my activation code; update my device; use the TomTom route planner. The second one presents the following options: read the manual for my device; manage my device; back up and restore; find accessories for my device; operate my device.

From the Preferences menu you can change the language used for TomTom Home’s interface.
From the Themes menu you can see what themes are available for TomTom Home’s interface and you can easily install whatever theme you like.

By default, TomTom Home will start automatically when your connect your TomTom navigation device to your computer. Aslo by default, TomTom Home will automatically detect if your TomTom device is connected and offer you any available updates.
